Falkland 2s made it three wins from three to open their season, grinding out a hard‑fought 24‑run victory away at Gordonians in testing batting conditions.

After losing the toss and being put in, Falkland were immediately challenged by a pitch offering movement and uneven bounce. Charlie Burton anchored the innings superbly, facing 59 balls for a crucial 24 and holding things together as wickets fell around him. There were a few starts through the middle order, but the standout contribution came from Ryan Hepburn, whose positive 40 from 41 balls injected much‑needed momentum.

The decisive moment of the innings was the 28‑run last‑wicket partnership between Hepburn and Skye Green, a stand that proved absolutely vital in pushing Falkland up to 149 all out — a total that looked competitive given the conditions.

Defending a small score, Falkland needed early breakthroughs, and the opening pair delivered in style. Greg Chambers and Homayon Gajarwal produced a blistering new‑ball spell, each taking four wickets and ripping through the Gordonians top order. At 46‑7, Falkland were in complete control, though a combination of dropped chances and some clean hitting allowed Gordonians to build an excellent ninth‑wicket partnership and threaten a late comeback.
