Falkland II had their first game of the season in a T20 Game at McKane Park on Sunday. The weather was not great but got steadily better through the afternoon. A feature of the game was that each team had a girl playing for them - Emma Halliwell for Falkland and Erin Leslie for Dunfermline. Both acquitted themselves well.

Falkland batted first and score 102 with Scott Meikle, Hamish Wood and Ben Morris all doing well. It was a good score in difficult batting conditions, as was proved when Dunfermline could only reach 58. The hero was Hamish Wood with his spin bowling who took 5 wickets for 1, twice being on a hat trick and the only run he conceded was a No Ball! He was well supported by other good bowling and some fine fielding.

It was a good start to the season for Wayne Sullivan's men, and the prospects for 2021 look good.
