Mikey Mo Stars in Good Win

Dundee HSFP 150 for 9 (40 overs)
(C.Watson 3-13, M,Watson 2-19)

Falkland 153 for 6 (38 overs)
(M.Morris 67, A.Anson 40)

Falkland Won by 4 Wkts

After an agreement to reduce the overs to 40 and Falkland to bowl first, we opened with Calum Watson and Chris Westwood. The wicket was helpful and both openers bowled very well. Euan and Mike took over and continued some tight bowling to see Dundee struggling. At drinks, they where 46 for 5. The bowlers continued to bowl well, with Logan and Donavan continuing to keep it tight, Calum & Mike Watson's return spells were good even though the umpiring was at times questionable. Calum and Mike finished with 8 ov, 1 mdn, 13 runs, 3 wkts & 8 ov, 2 mdns, 19 runs, 2 wkts respectively. It should have been more. The four young guns Euan, Chris, Donovan and Logan all were a credit to the team and contributed with the ball very well. Chris' fielding was outstanding. We did let Dundee off the hook, but after some bad tempered exchanges they finished 150 for 9.

Euan and Paul Watson opened up for Falkland. Euan had brain fade and left a ball which bowled him. Paul, after breaking a bat, looked in good form until he was caught and bowled. K Glen didn't trouble the scorers and Calum Watson was run out and Falkland where 25 for 4. Visiting Mike Morris was then at the crease and he was joined by the skipper. They , both ground out a start and then a score. Both players managed to hit the ball to fielders deep on the boundary over after over, but continued to build a score. Ashley was eventually LBW for 40 with Falkland needing 14 to win, the only LBW of the game! And then M Morris was caught behind for an excellent 67, the only player to walk. This left 4 runs for Falkland to score with Mike Watson and the senior player, Brian Watson, at the crease. After a number of balls, Mike hit the winning runs with Falkland's end total being 153 for 6 after 38 overs. The best 0 not out from Brian!

My thanks to all players who turned out today and a call for some of the guys who used to play to have a game to help on difficult days.

Man of the Match was Mowtown with a well batted 67 and two catches.

Ashley
