Emphatic Win Again For 2's

Falkland defeated Largo easily on Saturday and continued our impressive start to the season.

Having lost the toss, we were put into bat on a deck that was fairly soft and looked like it may do a bit. However this did not hinder Scuba who opened up with Tam. After losing Tam early doors, Scuba continued his early season form and plundered the Largo bowling attack to all parts of Scroggie. Scuba showed good positive intent from the start and may be a disappointed that he did not go on and score his first senior ton. He was dismissed for 77 and continues to knock on the door for selection to the 1s. No one else really troubled the scorers (how the book got into the mess it was in, is beyond me). The top and middle order failled to build on the good start made by Scuba and our innings appeared to be faltering. Enter the young duo of Hamilton Snr and Mike Watson who had a late cameo. Mike especially enjoyed himself, smacking a quick fire 36 no from his 10 overs. We eventually closed on 196/7 off our 50 overs.

The game in truth was finished by the 12th over of Largo's innings. The visiting batsmen were no match for Grant and Avin. 3 quick wickets from them and 2 ludicrous run outs saw Largo capitulate to 27/5. Game over!
It did take us until the 40th over to finally bowl them out, but the game was won well before that. It was a painstaking day in the field, but I was impressed by the way we stuck to the task and didn't let our fielding performance drop. Another positive that we must take forward into the next game.
