Falkland advanced to Fife Cup Finals Day on Thursday evening with a commanding eight‑wicket win over Glenrothes at Gilvenbank, chasing 106 in style after a disciplined and well‑balanced bowling performance set up the night.

Glenrothes chose to bat first and were immediately under pressure. George Cutler struck with the second ball of the match, removing Tanveer, and followed up by dismissing Ahmed soon after. A sharp run‑out accounted for Q Ahmad, and when M Sautiyal was trapped lbw by Cutler, Glenrothes were four down inside the opening overs.

Their only real resistance came from M Osama, who counter‑attacked with 26 from 18 balls. Once Daniel Styer removed him - the fifth wicket - Falkland were fully in control. Styer added another, Jack Henderson bowled a tight spell for two wickets, and Ryan Hepburn took 2 wickets in two balls at the back end. Glenrothes were bowled out for 106, with Falkland’s attack sharing the wickets and maintaining pressure throughout the 20 overs.

Chasing a modest target, Falkland produced exactly the response they needed after the last few week’s batting frustrations. Sriram Muramalla played a brilliant T20 innings, striking 63 not out from 48 balls, including 10 fours and a six. He controlled the chase from the outset, mixing clean hitting with smart rotation.

Craig Trewartha supported with a steady 18, and although Callum May fell quickly, Falkland were already cruising. Tassawar Hussain finished the job with a burst of boundaries - 17 not out from 8 balls - sealing victory with more than four overs to spare.

Falkland closed on 109 for 2, completing a confident, clinical chase and securing their place at Fife Cup Finals Day.
