The 1s March on to the Scottish Cup Semis!

Cameron Nellies

Another Fantastic Day in the Club's Long History

On a roasting hot day at Scroggie Park, Falkland produced one of the great modern‑era performances to defeat Forfarshire by 21 runs and book their place in the Scottish Cup semi‑finals — only the second time in the club’s history, following the unforgettable run to the final in 2024.

The occasion felt big from the moment the players walked out. The boundary was ringed with supporters, families, juniors, past players, and plenty who simply wanted to be part of something special. The noise was constant, the encouragement relentless — and while one particular voice may have carried slightly louder than the rest (my sincerest apologies for that), the players absolutely fed off the energy.

Asked to bat first, Falkland were made to work hard early, but Kyle Lottering (53) anchored the innings superbly, absorbing pressure and setting a platform. The middle order then ignited the game.

Jarryd Lookwhy (58 off 54) played the defining knock — positive, controlled, and full of intent — while Logan Briggs (37) and Tass Hussain (15 off 13) added crucial acceleration. Earlier, Adnan Mufti’s brisk 17 off 12 had shifted momentum at a key moment.

With 55 extras helping the cause, Falkland posted 265 all out, a total that felt competitive but would require discipline with the ball.

After tea, Falkland struck early through Taha Khan (2‑23), and when Homayon Gajarwal (4‑44) removed Tweedy and Garden in quick succession, the game tilted. Forfarshire kept fighting, with Hogarth (48) and Knight (31) threatening to drag the visitors back into it.

But every time the pressure rose, Falkland found an answer.
Logan Briggs (1‑49), Lyle Robertson (1‑57) and George Cutler (1‑34) all delivered vital breakthroughs, while the fielding intensity — fuelled by the crowd — never dipped.

Forfarshire kept swinging, but the required rate climbed, and when the final wicket fell at 244, Scroggie erupted.

A Massive Day for the Club
This wasn’t just a win — it was a statement.
A semi‑final place.
A packed Scroggie.
A performance full of heart, discipline, and belief.

The players delivered, the supporters lifted them, and the club took another step into territory it has only reached once before.

A massive result, a massive day, and a reminder of what Falkland cricket looks like at its best.
