Falkland made it a perfect weekend at Scroggie Park, backing up Saturday’s league win with a strong all‑round performance to progress to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup. On the immaculate surface that played true throughout both days (thanks to Groundsman Dave Macintosh and the rest of the grounds team), the 1st XI posted 231 before bowling out GH/K for 146.

After losing a couple of early wickets, Falkland recovered superbly through two important partnerships. Jack Henderson (96)* played the defining innings of the match, first rebuilding with Sriram Muramalla (35) in a positive 49‑run stand, then adding a further 85 with Homayon Gajarwal (32) to take the innings deep. Those partnerships allowed Falkland to post a competitive 231 all out, despite regular wickets falling around Henderson’s anchor role.

With the ball, Taha Khan was unbelievable once again, producing a match‑winning spell of 6‑32 from 10 overs that ripped through the GH/K top order and left the visitors reeling at 28‑7. At the other end, Dan Styer bowled beautifully, building pressure through accuracy and control even without the wickets he deserved — pressure that directly enabled breakthroughs for Taha and the rest of the attack. George Cutler (2‑17) struck early, while Logan Briggs and Tassawar Hussain picked up the final wickets to close out the innings.

GH/K were eventually dismissed for 146, giving Falkland a 85‑run victory and a confident passage into the next round.

A strong team performance, excellent support around the boundary, and another reminder of how well the Scroggie Park wicket played across the entire weekend.
