Falkland Demolish Galloway to Advance in the Village Cup

Cameron Nellies

Well worth the long drive!

Falkland delivered a dominant all‑round performance in the Village Cup on Sunday, storming to a 202‑run victory away at Galloway.

Asked to bat first, Falkland were outstanding from ball one. The May brothers set the tone, with Devon May’s fluent 59 giving the innings early momentum. At the other end, Callum May produced a superb, mature 89*, carrying his bat and controlling the tempo beautifully. He was supported brilliantly by Stuart Campbell (40), whose positive stroke‑play kept the scoreboard moving as Falkland powered to 215/4.

With a strong total on the board, Falkland’s bowlers were ruthless. Logan Briggs delivered a spell for the ages, taking a sensational 6 for 4, ripping through the Galloway top and middle order with accuracy, drift and control. It was a spell that effectively ended the contest.

Captain Jack Henderson chipped in with two wickets, striking at key moments to keep the pressure unrelenting, while Daniel Styer finished the job clinically as Galloway were bowled out for just 13, sealing a 202‑run win.

Off the field, the day was just as memorable. The ground was superb, the hospitality outstanding, and the whole setup at Galloway earned genuine praise from the Falkland camp.

A special moment came with Owen Cutler making his 1st XI debut, a proud day for him and the club.

A brilliant performance, a brilliant day out, and a statement win in the Village Cup.
