Falkland delivered a strong response in their second EPL match of the season, bouncing back from the opening‑day defeat to Arbroath with a composed DLS victory over Stewart’s Melville at Scroggie Park.

Put in to bat on a surface that played well all weekend, Falkland built their innings through three key contributions. Sriram Muramalla (47), Adnan Mufti (27) and Jarryd Lookwhy (a mature, unbeaten 58) all batted extremely well, putting together important partnerships at the right times to guide the side to 221/8 from their 50 overs.

Stewart’s Melville began their chase steadily, reaching the mid‑teens overs before rain arrived for the first time. At that point, the match was recalculated to a DLS target of 112 from 21 overs. When play eventually resumed, the visitors were left needing 60~ runs from the final 6 overs, a task that quickly became unmanageable thanks to Falkland’s control with the ball.

Taha Khan was outstanding, sending down six overs for just 11 runs and setting the tone with relentless accuracy. Once the seamers had applied the squeeze, the spin trio of Logan Briggs, Tassawar Hussain and Lyle Robertson took the game away. Briggs led the way with 2‑17, supported by wickets for Hussain and Robertson, while seamer George Cutler (2‑24) made two important early breakthroughs.

Stewart’s Melville closed on 94/6, well short of the adjusted target, sealing a confident Falkland win built on partnerships with the bat, discipline with the ball, and a spin unit that finished the job clinically.
