Falkland Crush Strathmore in SPCU CS T20 Qualifier

On the evening of 8th June, Falkland 1st XI travelled to Lochside Park, Forfar to play Strathmore 1st XI in the 4th round of the Caley Region T20 qualifier competition. Falkland’s Captain for the match was Steven Meikle.

Strathmore won the toss and elected to bat first. The home side’s innings was severely restricted by Falkland’s bowlers and amassed only 70 runs before being all out in the 18th over.

Falkland’s bowling figures were: Logan Briggs 3 wickets for 10 runs, Greg Chambers 3 wickets for 17 runs, Charlie Burton 2 wickets for 9 runs ( his first wickets for the 1st XI), Andrew Gibson 1 wicket for 6 runs, Grant Langlands 1 wicket for 11 runs and Julian De Jager 0 wickets for 17 runs.

Falkland’s batting reply was swift. Spearheaded by Kyle Jacobs who was not out for 46 runs from 30 balls. Falkland did lose 2 wickets in the process but overtook Strathmore’s total in just 9.3 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets.

Falkland’s next match in this competition is away at Forthill where they play Forfarshire on the evening of 13th June.
