Falkland welcomed the Gen!us Grange 1st XI to Scroggie Park, a team that contained a number of Scottish International players. Falkland’s Captain, Jack Henderson won the toss and elected to bat first.
Only Jack Henderson was able to put together an innings and that was truly a Captain’s innings, carrying his bat for all of Falkland’s 50 overs. His 50 came up after receiving 104 balls and the 100 in 153 balls. Jack finished on 102 not out which included 12 4’s. Falkland’s innings closed on 174 for 8 wickets after 50 overs.
Scottish International Chris Greaves returned bowling figures of 3 for 24 from his 10 overs.
At the start of the visitor’s reply Falkland’s bowlers were encouraged by the fall of 2 early wickets. Harris Carnegie (9 runs) and Chris Greaves (13 runs). However, the Grange Captain, Tom Foulds together with Finlay McCreath took the match away from the home side. They both scored 68 not out, taking their team to a winning 177 for 2 from 28.1 overs.
Gen!us Grange won by 8 wickets.
Next Saturday Falkland 1st XI travel North to play Stoneywood Dyce.
