Falkland 1st XI v RH Corstorphine 1st XI

On the opening day of the 2023 Cricket Scotland, Eastern Premier League, Falkland welcomed RH Corstorphine to Scroggie Park on a bitterly cold day.

Falkland Captain, Jack Henderson won the toss and elected to bat first.

Unfortunately, the Falkland innings never gained any sort of momentum and the home side were all out for 101 from 45.5 overs. Corstorphine bowler Dasmahapatra returned very fine figures of 4 wickets for 32 from his 10 overs. Jeremy Martins top scored for Falkland with 20 runs from 26 balls.

Corstorphine’s batting reply was ably led by their opening batter D. Rane, who was not out having scored 45 runs from 96 deliveries. The visitors reached their target of 102 in 30.4 overs having lost 3 wickets.

Falkland travel to Forthill next Saturday to play a usually very strong Forfarshire.
