Falkland lost to Grange by the narrowest of margins in Edinburgh on Saturday in what was generally agreed to have been one of the best games of cricket in recent times at the Grange. Grange won the toss and batted and were much indebted to Flannigan and Foulds for their stand of 114 for the third wicket, and then to Scott Blain and Rory Grant for adding useful runs near the end although Falkland fielded well throughout. The bowling was generally good as well.

It was a competitive score, but Falkland got off to a great start when Jack Henderson and Adam Ferguson put on 87 for the 1st wicket. The platform had been laid for a spirited reply, and when Charlie Cassell was in, everything looked possible. Grange had been guilty of fielding errors including a few dropped catches, but once Cassell was caught by Scott Blain, Falkland's innings stalled a little, and in the most tense of circumstances, Falkland fell just two runs short. They are worthy of nothing but the greatest of praise for such a brave effort at one of the most famous grounds of Scottish cricket.

They earned 8 bonus points for coming so close to Grange's total.
