Goedonians Inflict Tough Loss on Falkland

On an idyllic Summers afternoon at Scroggie Park with the occasional sounds of bagpipes wafting over the ground, Visitors Gordonians won the toss and chose to bat.
They posted a challenging score of 245 from their allotted 45 overs. H. Saraswat scoring 79 from 77 balls, P. Wig 50 from 57 balls and opening bat Arora adding 46.

The home team lost early wickets and the loss of Harsha Cooray for 1 run was a particular blow. But Steven Meikle set off in chase of the target and scored 91 from just 76 balls before being caught by Arora off the bowling of Ahmed. (Steven’s 50 came up after just 36 balls). Although assisted by 30 from Cameron Nellies, Falkland were all out for 210 in 38.5 overs. Gordonians Arora playing a major part in the bowling attack with 3 for 36.
