The season has taken a long time to get going this year but Falkland had an easy win against Glenrothes on Saturday in their first friendly game of the season. Falkland put the visitors in to bat and very soon had them in trouble with a fine display of bowling and fielding which prevented Glenrothes from getting going. Ian Green managed to score 17, but their inexperienced side had no real answer to a young and talented Falkland team which included Ben Morris who at one point bowled to his father in the Glenrothes team!

Falkland's young lions Lyle Robertson and Euan Sloan knocked off the runs with no real bother.

It is a shame that this season has been lost more or less in its entirety, because Falkland's side today teemed with young talent - Robertson, Sloan, Briggs, Morris and Jennings to name only a few - and they would have done well in 2020. There are still a few games left in 2020, but the main focus must now be on 2021. The future looks bright for the club.
