Falkland were drawn against Morton (from Edinburgh) in the first round of the Cricket Scotland Challenge Cup. The fixture date had been rearranged owing to weather issues and was played at Freuchie's home ground, Pleasure Park, because Scroggie Park was already fully engaged on this day.
Morton won the toss and elected to bat, scoring exactly 200 runs in their allotted 40 overs. Raj Ananadarao top scoring for the visitors with 29. Darren Pearce returned bowling figures of 2 for 14 from 8 overs.
In reply Darren added to his bowling success by carrying his bat through the innings scoring a well deserved 101 not out, ably assisted towards the end by Cameron Nellies (28 not out).
Falkland reached the target of 201 in 35 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets, thus winning the Match by 6 wickets and progressing to the next round of the CS Challenge Cup.
