Falkland travelled to Dalnacraig, Dundee to take on Dundee HSFP in the SPCU NE Championship. The home side won the toss and put Falkland into bat and the visitors scored 251 in their 45 overs with great performances from Harsha Cooray 84 (from 75 balls) and Ben Strachan 51 from 49 balls. Dundee's Rasheed returned bowling figures of 3 for 32 from 8 overs.
The home team's reply got off to a rapid start with 53 for 2 from just 5 overs. However, once Ben Strachan removed Rasheed for 59 (from just 30 balls) the innings began to slow up. Dundee found scoring hard with the bowling pair of Strachan and Cooray operating together and they were all out for 127 from 21.2 overs. Ben Strachan's bowling figures were impressive, 7 wickets for 8 runs from 6.2 overs.
Next Saturday's meeting at Scroggie Park against Stoneywood Dyce looks like being the SPCU NE Championship decider.
