Falkland beat Forfarshire 2nd XI by 7 wkts

Falkland completed the first half of their Strathmore Union fixtures with a good win over Forfarshire II at Scroggie on Saturday. It was a fine day, and the pitch was in almost perfect condition, so it was no real surprise that Forfarshire chose to bat when they won the toss. It was a slow start but Graham Garden and James Hogarth accelerated to reach a respectable 189 for 4. Falkland batted and fielded well, but once again 18 Wides was rather too many.

The Falkland innings was all about Stuart Campbell who reached his century and scored the winning run with the same ball. His century was not exactly chanceless, but he rode his luck and battled well with good support from Steven Meikle, Euan Sloan and Harsha Cooray.

Falkland have now played 9 games and won 8 of them, the other one being rained off at Stoneywood Dyce last week. They now travel to Gordonians in Aberdeen next Saturday.
