Falkland beat Meigle by 7 wkts

Falkland's second game in the SPCU NE Championship saw the 1st XI at Victory Park, Meigle, on an overcast and cool Saturday Morning. Having won the toss, Falkland's Captain, Stuart Campbell put the home side into bat. Meigle were bowled out for 135 after 37 overs. Raju Gayashan top scoring with 38. Falkland's Harsha Cooray returned bowling figures of 4 for 22 from 9 overs, Calum Watson 3 for 31 from 4 overs, Ben Strachan 2 for 10 from 7 overs. Meigle's score off the bat was flattered by the addition of 41 extras of which 31 were wide ball extras.

Campbell and Meikle set Falkland's innings off to a good start, scoring 21 from 19 balls and 26 from 27 balls respectively. After the loss of 3 wickets Harsha Cooray, 19 not out and Ben Strachan, 45 not out (from 39 balls) saw Falkland through to a well deserved win by 7 wickets. Meigle's Ahmed took all 3 of the Falkland wickets achieving figures of 3 for 16 from 5.1 overs.
