Aberdeenshire beat Falkland by 11 runs (D/L)
For the second week in a row, Falkland lost on the Duckworth Lewis method, this time in a situation where they had a real chance of winning. But the rain which had affected the rest of Scotland eventually reached Aberdeen at 7.00 pm and washed out play at a time when Aberdeenshire were on top according to D/L.
Having said all that, Falkland had made life difficult for themselves by poor fielding and the concession of 21 Wides, something that is hardly excused by Aberdeenshire having conceded 20! There were also some good things as well in the fine innings of 84 from Harsha Cooray, some fine bowling from Aaron Paul and one particularly good catch by Callum Watson which dismissed Aberdeenshire's professional. Lyall Robertson also deserves some credit for his valuable 15 which was a great source of support for Harsha as he built his innings.
The game started on a bizarre note, when Falkland came out to bat, and so did Aberdeenshire! Chris Venske of Aberdeenshire had misheard Stuart Campbell's "We''ll bat", thinking he said "You'll bat". It was a good laugh, but there was little else to smile about.
All in all, it was another hard luck story from Falkland who now lie at the bottom of League.
