Falkland Squeeze Through to Fife Cup Final

Falkland won by virtue of having lost fewer wkts.

Falkland visited the Dunnikier Country Park on Tuesday evening to play a semi final for the Fife Cup T20 against Dunnikier.

Captain Brock Ditchmen won the toss and elected to bat, but his team found the going hard against the home side's bowling attack. Falkland made 85 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs with Brock Ditchmen making 44 not out. Dunnikier's best bowler was O.Raiz returning figures of 4 overs 1 maiden 3 wickets for 4 runs.

In reply Dunnikier also made exactly 85 runs, but for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Top scorer was A.Yousaf 46. Best bowling figures for Falkland were, A.Hamilton 2 overs, 1 maiden, 3 wickets for 6 runs. S.Sharif 4 overs, 1 maiden, 3 wickets for 9 runs. Kris Glen (who took the final wicket) 2 overs, 1 wicket for 10 runs.

Falkland won by losing less wickets than the opposition and now await a date and venue for the Fife Cup final. The other semi final between Glenrothes and Largo is yet to be played.
