Heriots beat Falkland by 35 runs (33 overs)
It was a frustrating and disappointing Saturday for Falkland's 1st XI.
Having arrived in good time to start the match at Goldenacre, a wet out field delayed the start of the match until 2.40pm and reduced the overs available to 33 per side.
Falkland won the toss and put Heriots in to bat. Heriots started slowly and lost an early wicket but Van der Berg scored 101 from just 111 balls. He was assisted by Ross (39) and Dryden (28). The home side finished with 197 for 5 wickets from their 33 overs.
Ardene Ruhode returned Falkland's best bowling figures with 3 wickets for 38 runs.
The Falkland innings was interrupted by further rain which reduced the overs available to 21 and produced a Duckworth Lewis target of 146 runs to win.
Unfortunately, the loss of 3 wickets for just 21 runs from 10 overs made the run chase very difficult but Falkland's Grant Doig set about the task and had scored 67 from 61 balls when he was bowled by Ryan Brown. Falkland reached a total of 110 for 9 wickets from their 21 overs. Brown's figures were 4 for 33 , Adrian Neill had 3 for 28 and Heriots Captain Keith Morton, 2 for 21. Heriots won by 35 runs.
