Falkland 1st's Disappoint on first League Game of the Season

Falkland Lost by 156 Runs

With enormous credit due to the Falkland Cricket Club ground staff, the first game of the 2016 CSL Eastern Premiership League was able to be played after days of winter weather.

Falkland Captain Brock Ditchmen won the toss and inserted the visiting Grange team.

Grange scored steadily and reached 198 for 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Alex Baum top scoring with 44. Falkland's bowlers Sharif and Strachan returned figures of 37 for 4 from 12 overs and 50 for 3 from 10 overs respectively.

Falkland's innings didn't start well with the loss of Paul Spillane in the first over. The home side reached just 42 all out from 24.1 overs. Grange's Harris Aslam taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs. Falkland also had 2 run outs.

Falkland will be looking for a much improved performance at their next game which is a local derby away to Glenrothes.
