In overcast, cold and windy conditions Falkland 1st's were asked to field first after Watsonian's won the toss. Watsonians reached 145 all out in 38 overs with Ben Strachan returning bowling figures of 3 for 26 from just 6 overs, ably supported by Brock Ditchmen (2 for 13 from 5 overs) and Alan Hamilton (2 for 37 from 10 overs).

As Falkland started their reply, persistent drizzle added to the difficult conditions but opener Buitendag got the innings off to a brisk start scoring 28 from 25 balls. After 33 overs the score was 138 for 8 when Ryan Hepburn joined Craig Hepburn in the middle and both saw Falkland home (148 for 8 from 35 overs). Watsonians spin bowler O'Connell returned excellent figures of 4 for 22 from his 10 overs.
