Glenrothes win on D/L after rain stopped play.
Falkland exited the Murgitroyd T20 tournament on Tuesday night in unfortunate circumstances after rain stopped play with Glenrothes ahead on the Duckworth Lewis calculatons. There seemed little doubt that the Glens were going to win the game in any case, but it was an unfortunate way to lose the game in conditions that bordered on the farcical with the Falkland bowlers barely able to hold the ball, and the light poor throughout. No criticism should be directed at the players for losing in these circumstances. It was, quite simply, a game to forget.
Falkland won the toss, and Bryn Cleaver and Safyaan Sharif gave Falkland a good start, being 65 for 1 at the halfway stage. But then wickets began to fall - Glenrothes fielded very impressively - and Falkland would have been disappointed to post only 134. Glenrothes also started well with Graeme Beghin in particular looking impressive, but then as conditions deteriorated in the rain and the mist, the Umpires took the inevitable decision to abandon the game.
