Falkland Lost by 8 Wkts.
On a warm July afternoon at Scroggie Park, Falkland Cricket Club was not only entertaining Watsonians in the CSL Eastern Premier League, but also saying thank you to the ladies associated with the club.
Whilst the ladies enjoyed refreshments throughout the afternoon, Falkland won the toss and Captain Brock Dutchmen elected to bat.
Despite a steady start the home team lost wickets regularly with the best partnership being 34 between the opening pair of Connor Ryan and Bryn Cleaver. Falkland were all out for 119 using up just 38.1 of their allotted 50 overs. Watsonian's bowlers returned impressive figures, B.O'Connell 3 f 17, P.Sandler 3 f 23 and E.Chalmers 3 f 31.
The Watsonians reply was interrupted by thunder, lightning and heavy rain which brought into use the Duckworth Lewis calculation. This set the visitors the target of 74 from 23 overs to win. Watsonians cruised to the required total in just 13.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.
