Match Abandoned
Rain unfortunately caused the game to be abandoned one over after the tea interval at Falkland on Saturday with Heriot's clear favourites to reach Falkland's undemanding 139 all out.
Falkland won the toss and decided to bat. They lost Jack Henderson early, but then Bryn Cleaver and Adam Ferguson put on 61 for the 2nd wicket before Adam was trapped lbw. Thereafter, Falkland, with the exception of Ashkay Nangia who rode his luck to give Cleaver some support, collapsed to some injudicious strokes and a crazy run out in the face of some accurate, but by no means unbeatable, Heriot's bowling.
The predominant emotion among Falkland supporters was one of disappointment, yet it would have been interesting to see the second half, for Heriot's have no great batting record this season, and Falkland's strength has been in the bowling. But the rain had the final say, and the game had to be abandoned.
A trip to Forfarshire awaits next Saturday
