Glenrothes 166 for 3
(C Greaves 101)
Falkland 158 for 9
(N Lockyer 56, L Thomas 3 for 34)
Falkland lost by 8 runs
Falkland exited the Fife Cup after a fine game of cricket played at Scroggie on Tuesday 4 June.
Glenrothes opted to bat first and were soon off to a good start with the batting of Chris Greaves particularly impressive as he hit a century, backed up by Greig Hopcroft's 31. Falkland's bowling was a little disappointing and Glenrothes found the boundary rather too often.
Falkland's reply to the massive total of 166 was also creditable but too many wickets were lost at key points, and Nick Lockyer who had scored 56 was very unlucky to be given Run Out after he collided with his own batsman - a decision that was technically correct but unfortunate. With the injured captain Ryan Hepburn batting at the end, Falkland fell just 8 runs short of the total.
The game was played in good weather before a decent crowd of spectators.
