Freuchie 163 all out
(S Gourlay 53, J Wallace 38, N Lockyer 3 for 27)
Falkland 166 for 4
(N Lockyer 56 not out, A Ferguson 24)
At Falkland on Saturday, the home side recorded another convincing win over Freuchie in the last derby game of the season, and in so doing consolidated their place at second in the Eastern Division One of the Cricket Scotland League.
On a dullish but pleasant enough day, Freuchie won the toss and decided to bat but early losses made it difficult for them to get any momentum going, and only veterans Scott Gourlay and Jock Wallace were able to make any progress against a steady Falkland attack, all of whom bowled accurately with Ditchmen's 2 for 32 in 13 Overs the pick of the bowling. Freuchie's tail failed to wag after the dismissal of Gourlay and Wallace, and, having committed the cardinal sin of not using up their allotted number of Overs, their total of 163 did not look enough.
Falkland got off to a steadier start, with Freuchie's cause hampered by a prodigious amount of wides being conceded in the early stages. Ferguson batted well for 24, and with clouds threatening, Lockyer finished the game off in style with a fine 56 not out to record a very satisfactory win for the home side.
