Falkland beat Glenrothes by 7 wkts
On an overcast and often drizzly afternoon at Scroggie Park, Falkland met Glenrothes in the Cricket Scotland Eastern Division 1 match.
Glenrothes Captain Greg Hopcroft won the toss and elected to bat first and with the weather threatening to wash out the game at any moment Hopcroft and Greaves commenced a steady start for the visitors.
However, the home side controlled the game from the start and Glenrothes found it difficult to get their score going, losing Hopcroft after 35 minutes and 10 overs with the score on 28. Chris Greaves was the highest scorer with 44, followed bySteve Rowley with 36 and Jordan Davidson with 29 off just 20 balls. Glenrothes completed their 50 overs having made 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. All the Falkland bowlers were economical with the top wicket takers being Wayne Sullivan with 3 for 40 off 10 overs and Nic Lockyer 2 for 11 off 3 overs.
Jack Henderson and Adam Ferguson started the Falkland innings with some fine batting. Henderson reaching his 50 off just 47 balls. Henderson fell for 70 off 61 balls and Ferguson was dismissed shortly afterwards for 26 but the score was already 110. Falkland's wicket keeper Alex Bychkov hit 24 from 30 balls brefore being caught in the deep by Ryan Watson off the bowling of Jatinder Pal. David Gray and Nic Lockyer saw Falkland home with Gray 30 not out (27 balls) and Lockyer 3 not out.
