Accepted to the prestigious academy for a 10-week course.

Promising FCC youngster Greg Chambers who will be headed to Adelaide in October for a 10-week spell of “intensive and appropriate” training at the Darren Lehman Cricket Academy.

The South Australian Cricket Association and the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy provides young players from all over the world with the unique opportunity to undertake intense training at the world-renowned Adelaide Oval and hone their cricket skills in Australian conditions.

Full details of the program are available on You Tube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLH3i9IQy-E

To raise funds for his trip Greg will be participating in a world first – a sponsored ’12-hour Batathon’ - which will involve Greg facing a bowling machine with no more than a few 5 minute “convenience stops” throughout the day. There’s no doubting that this will be very tough but Greg is a determined young man and has even contacted the Guinness book of records to see if he can gain the accolade of setting a new world first.

Furthermore; Greg has also agreed to use this excellent idea as a means of raising funds for Motor Neurone Scotland; which is a charity close to many of our hearts.

Greg has set up a Go Fund Me page and we’d encourage our members to support this in any way they can - https://www.gofundme.com/dlca-austrailia-fund

It’s a great initiative – Good luck Greg.
