Match reduced to 30 overs.
Dunnikier 187/8
(T. Collins 4 for 21, P. Matthews 2 for 54)
Falkland XI 147/5
(M. Low 75 ret, I. Collins 16, D. May 14)
Dunnikier won by 40 runs
On a dreich Sunday both teams did well to play a game which was reduced to 30 overs a side. Winning the toss, I asked the opposition to bat.
Callum Watson took an early wicket but Dunnikeir scored briskly making use of the short boundary. Young Peter Matthews came on to bowl his leg spin and finished with credible figures of 2 for 54 from 6 overs- responding positively to being targeted by one batsman.
After that, Tom Collins came on to bowl. Tom was making his debut and played ok in his 1st game for around 10 years when he was 13. Tom finished with figures of 4 for 21.
After 30 overs we found ourselves chasing 188 to win.
Our reply was build around a fine 75 from Mel who eventually retired - not sure if it was hurt, exhaustion or suffering from metal fatigue. Ian Collins had 16 and Dev May 14 but our reply was 40 runs short as we managed a creditable 147 for 5 from our 30 overs.
