Having decided that batting would be the best option, I was left to regret my unwillingness to change my mind having seen the pitch at Bannockburn on Sunday. Having decided to bat, 7 for 4 from 6 overs was not exactly what I had in mind. Whilst the pitch was not great, it certainly wasn't a 52 all out deck but with only Scuba and Scholsey reaching double figures against what could never be described as threatening bowling, that was what we got.

On the plus side, our bowling and fielding was tight and we managed to secure 4 wickets and keep the opposition out there until the 21st over before succumbing to a 6 wicket defeat. Greg, Scholsey, Devon and Grant Langlands each took a wicket with Scholsey bowling 5 overs, 1 for 1.

We really must do better as we prepare to entertain Freuchie at Scroggie on Sunday
