Thirds Lose to Penicuik

After winning the toss Falkland looked to set a formidable target. The innings didn't get off to the best of starts with both openers departing early caught behind. Despite the setback, a fine 28 from Robbie Nellies helped recover the innings before Callum Bell anchored a fine 63 with support from some powerful hitting from Joe Peggie and Callum Guiney. The innings finished with 12 year old Hamish MacLeod getting his first runs in adult cricket.

Penicuik were set 181 for the win, but despite early wickets from Callum Bell and two from Callum Guiney the score board kept ticking over. With only nine in the field the Pennicuik batsmen continually found the gaps punishing any loose bowling. Hamish MacLeod's excellent introduction with the ball was unfortunate not to bring his first wicket and despite a couple of late wickets by Robbie Nellies and Arran Barclay, Penicuik were safely home.
