Broomhall 2 beat Falkland 3 by 4 wkts
Another scorching day, another winning toss and Falkland elected to bat. Paul Watson got the innings off to a flyer with a quickfire 21 before a top order collapse put the opposition in a very commanding position. Thankfully a one-handed innings from Jamie Aitken, career best 33 from Scott Laing and a solid 28 not out from Harry Ferguson helped post a defendable total of 123.
Broomhall made a solid, but slow, start to their innings thanks to an accurate opening spell from Aaron Barclay and Jamie Aitken, who removed their opener, thanks to a sharp catch in the covers by Devon May. Two left handers at the crease proved an interesting challenge for Falkland's bowlers and it needed 3rd change Peter Matthews to make an all important breakthrough. Further wickets followed, thanks to an inspiring spell from Paul Watson and solid catching by Scott Laing, Devon May and Jamie Aitken. Unfortunately, despite this pressure Broomhall did enough to see them over the line. Another brave effort from Falkland, meaning an extra 10 or 20 runs in their innings could have been enough.
