With only 7 players, we were very grateful to Marchmont for lending us no fewer than 3 fielders throughout the 40 overs of their innings.
They may have been rethinking this generous offer when Tony flattened the off stump twice in the first over. He repeated the trick in the 5th over - but only once this time - and when Robbie chipped in with a caught and bowled, we had them at 28/4.
Thereafter, the wickets dried up. Peter Matthews was again unlucky before Colin Emerson rolled back the years - at least 18 of them to be precise - to bowl 8 overs for 37. We are reliably informed he could hardly move on Sunday morning. Colin, Ian Collins and myself each picked up a wicket as the opposition reached 216 for 8.
Our reply, such as it was, was over inside 13 overs with the 6 wickets falling for 33 runs. Only Robbie with 18 made it to double figures.
