Falkland won by 104 runs

Falkland secured a good away victory in their 1st competitive outing in 21 months, although they did it the hard way. Losing the toss, Falkland were put into bat and were soon 2 for 2, with both openers being dismissed first ball they faced. Steven Meikle and Lyle Robertson then put on 43 for the 3rd wicket and were looking set before Steven was run out for 22. Wickets fell at regular intervals and 157 was a long way away at 68 for 8.

It was when Ryan Hepburn joined Lyle at the crease that runs came more easily, and when Ryan was out, just after a rain delay, Alan Hamilton continued the support which allowed Lyle to finish on 80 not out when he ran out of partners.

157 looked competitive in the conditions and Falkland were confident when they took to the field. They could hardly have had a better start with three of the top four being dismissed for ducks, Ryan taking the 1st wicket with the 2nd ball then 2 in 2 balls for Hammy a couple of overs later. It was then that the spinners took over, with Lyle continuing his excellent day finishing with 4 for 7 from 8 overs.
In the end, as the rain threatened again, Perth were dismissed for 53 meaning Falkland won by 104 runs.
