(G Watson 80, A Ferguson 41, G Doig 30, R Jappie 3-17)

Falkland Won by 119 Runs
Falkland had a comfortable win on Sunday in the semi-final of the Cricket Scotland Challenge Trophy. Geordie Gallagher won the toss and decided to bat first, and after a slow start against some quite tight bowling, Falkland reached 190 for 6 in their 40 Overs with Graeme Watson scoring 80 and with useful contributions from Adam Ferguson and Grant Doig.
The conditions were drizzly, and most unusually for summer 2018, rain stopped play for over an hour. Falkland were on top at that point, and after play re-started, they took a grip of the game to dismiss a poor Stenhousemuir side for 71 all out, Ben Strachan finishing with the astonishing figures of 6.3-4-4-4, while credit must also be given to Darren Pearce for his 3 for 17 which included the key wicket of Stenny's professional Rushdi Jappie. Falkland are now in the final of this tournament, although I think it would be fair to say that most attention is now fixed on this Sunday's Village Cup quarter final against Folkton and Flixton, a team from neat Scarborough in Yorkshire.
