(Aberdeenshire beat Falkland by 4 wits)
On the Saturday that Falkland Cricket Club enjoys entertaining its many sponsors, the home team's opponents were Aberdeenshire. Falkland Captain Stuart Campbell won the toss and decided to bat first. It was slow going and Falkland lost 4 wickets while making just 45 runs. Then a skillful and timely partnership between Paul Spillane and Adam Ferguson put on 100 runs from 134 balls. Then with the score on 150, Spillane was caught off a ball bowled by former Falkland Pro Harsha Cooray for 71. Adam Ferguson and Brock Ditchmen pushed the score on to 202 when Ferguson was run out in the 50th over. Falkland finished on 203 for 6 wickets setting Aberdeenshire 204 to win.
The visitor's Captain Chris Venske set about the chase scoring 42 from 52 balls before falling LBW to Alan Hamilton but after a flurry of wickets, Harsha Cooray and Etienne Botha saw the visitors home, reaching 204 with just 1 over to spare.
An excellent, entertaining game of Cricket from 2 closely matched sides.
