Forfarshire beat Falkland by 5 wkts
Falkland had attractive visitors in Forfarshire at Scroggie Park on Saturday. The condition were fine, if a little on the chilly side now and again, but Falkland disappointed their supporters with a below par performance which showed that some players have yet to show the form of which they are capable.
Brock Ditchmen won the toss and batted first. Early losses however against a good attack, particularly Bailwal who ended up with 4 for 28, saw the home side reduced to 61 for 6. However a steady performance from Paul Spillane who scored 38 patient runs as well as some spirited hitting by Stuart Campbell (31) and Brock Ditchmen (36) saw Falkland reach the respectable total of 174, although the total was boosted by the gift of 29 wides from the Forfarshire bowlers!
A few fielding errors did not help Falkland's cause when the Dundee side went out to bat, although at 130 for 5 with Parker, Wallace and Beghin all out, they seemed to have a chance, but sadly no more wickets fell and Mohammed and Cameron whittled away at the Falkland score, and Forfarshire won with nearly 10 Overs to spare.
