Falkland bowed out of the Murgitroyd T20 tournament at the semi final stage of the regional round at Mannofield on Sunday. Heavy rain the previous day had caused a delayed start of 2 and a half hours, and an inexperienced Falkland side were put in to bat when Forfarshire won the toss. Cloete Buitendag got the innings off to a good start, but when he departed lbw for 38, the innings slowed down dramatically, and a total of 98 never looked like enough.

For Forfarshire, Ryan Watson, one time of Falkland, was in good form and finished the game quickly. It was a disappointment for Falkland, but in a season when there are other things going on, it was not a total disaster. It can be looked upon as a learning experience for youngsters like Cameron Paton and Calum Watson who took a good catch in the deep.
