Falkland 121 all out
(S Sharif 34, R Brown 4 for 41, J Hearn 3 for 5)
Heriots 102 all out
(B Ditchmen 3 for 26, S Sharif 3 for 31)
Falkland had a good victory over Heriots on an agreeable day at Falkland on Saturday. It was a low scoring and engrossing
encounter.
Heriots won the toss and put Falkland in on a pitch which had loads of green on it. Falkland got off to a good start and were 30 for 0 wicket at one point until Heriots brought on their spinners and put a brake on Falkland's progress. Ryan Brown, one time of Largo, took 4 for 41 as Falkland collapsed to 121 all out, but the best bowler was Mark Watt who at one point bowled 6 maidens in a row. For Falkland only Safyaan Sharif with 34 put up much resistance, and the next highest scorer was wides with 23!
121 did not really look enough, but Falkland bowled and fielded well with two good run outs, the key moment being the caught and bowled wicket of Steve Knox taken by Sharif. Watt put up a little resistance but Heriots finished 19 runs short, Ditchmen and Sharif both taking three wickets. It was a good win for Falkland who now await the visit of Forfarshire next week.
