Falkland 179 for 7
(J Henderson 36, B Ditchmen 32no)
Stoneywood-Dyce 39 all out
(R Hepburn 5-14, S Sharif 5-20)
Falkland Won by 140 Runs
Falkland had a tremendous victory in Aberdeen on Saturday to make it three League victories out of three. Frankly this is League winning form, and a great springboard for the rest of the season, and full credit is due to Brock Ditchmen and his team.
The conditions were far from ideal, and it was no surprise that, when the Aberdeen side won the toss, they inserted Falkland. The start was sedate, but in retrospect the opening stand of 66 put on by Jack Henderson and Matt Surry played a crucial part in giving Falkland a respectable total of 179. Connor Ryan's 29 was also a good grafting innings, as was the 32 not out put on by Brock Ditchmen near the end.
The second half lasted little more than an hour as Stoneywood-Dyce were simply blown away by fine accurate bowling from Ryan Hepburn and Safyaan Sharif who both took 5 wickets each as the Aberdonians collapsed to 39 all out - only 23 of which came from the bat! To an extent the home team were the architects of their own downfall, but let no-one take anything away from the magnificent new ball bowling of Falkland's two openers who were backed up by good fielding and another fine performance behind the stumps from Connor Ryan.
A tougher test will await Falkland when Grange come calling to Scroggie next weekend.
